I'm So Sad

I'm still an orphan. The people who said they wanted to be my forever people decided they don't want me after all. I thought they really loved me, I was starting to love them, and I already loved Angus. Now I don't have a forever family and Angus and I don't get to be brother and sister. I really don't understand why this happened.
The foster lady says I didn't do anything wrong, but I can't help feeling that I must have done something to make them change their minds. Is it because my ears are a little funny, or because I thought the stairs at their house were scary? The stairs had big gaps in them and I could see all the way through to the other side so I wasn't sure how to go up and down them. I don't think normal stairs are scary so I know I could have learned to be brave about the stairs.
The foster lady, Mr. Tim and Ms. Donna say I'm a really good girl and I did everything right when I met the people, Angus and their cat. They say that my real forever family will be extra extra special and extra extra lucky, but if this wasn't my forever family, who will want me? I thought we all got along really well, but I still wasn't good enough. I'm very thankful that I have my foster family and my BAD RAP people who still love me, but I feel rejected and sad.

Lulu has been very nice to me. She said I am a very nice dog and not to worry because I can stay here and be her little foster sister for as long as it takes. She says my forever family will come and find me when the time is right and then my life will be great forever. I hope she's right, but right now I just don't understand humans at all.

  2. Hi Winnie - I'm a believer in that old saying that everything happens for a reason. So keep playing with your wonderful foster family who love you very much and the right home will come along. You are so cute and irresistible, you'll charm the right ones at the right time.

  4. Winnie, my heart is breaking for you. You know what though? The only ones losing out in this situation are the people who changed their minds, because they are missing out on spending all their days and nights with the cutest and sweetest girl in the entire universe. Do you know who that is? That's you!
Don't let this get you down too much, Sweetie Pie. One of these days very soon, when you least expect it, the most perfect forever home that ever was will be looking for the most special girl they could find, and all of a sudden, just like that you will be swept into the arms of people who will love you forever and ever. Until then, you keep enjoying your foster family, because they love you very, very much!

  6. Hello Beautiful girl! I'm sad too Winnie, I want to hold you and cover you with kisses. A face that cute should never have to show sadness. You are such a sassy & sweet girl, the RIGHT family will come your way. Keep your chin up Winnie. xoxo

  7. Winnie, trust me, if these people changed their minds about welcoming you into their home than they are neither worthy of your affection nor right for you! You are the loveliest, sweetest, silliest girl ever and the best possible family is going to find you before you know it. Personally, I am happy that we still get to see updates and pictures of you!

    Hugs and kissees,

  8. Oh, sweet girl! Don't feel too sad. Not going to this home means that your REAL Forever Home is still waiting for you. There are so many of us out here on the interwebs who are rooting for you! If my silly Mister would go for it, I'd take you home in a red hot second, but sometimes Misters are weird. It's not you, though. That's a promise! You just keep being your sweet self and the perfect home will open it's doors.

  9. Humans are much harder to figure out than dogs; we do some strange things. In my shelter, I have seen forever homes fall through over and over again but it is always because a family that needs you even more is coming soon. I am sure that your forever family will find you, just try to be patient!

  23. Oh Winnie, I am so sorry. I do not understand people most of the time and do prefer to spend my time with animals, because they will not let you down like humans. I am sorry that you have been let down. But I am very grateful to your wonderful foster family and BadRap...for as long as they are in your life, you will be okkeedookee

  24. This breaks my heart! This is totally unfair. I'm sorry, I am an animal lover and an advocate of fostering, but what happens when this happens? I realize it's a risk to be taken, but I think it is unfair that an animal is sent to a foster home, they finally begin to heal and love again, and then at the end of the day they end up somewhere else. I don't think it's fair. I wish there was a better way to do this.

  26. Know what happened to me, Winnie? This one guy took me home and adopted me a long tiem ago but then on accounta he's a sole-jur, he had to go somewhere called "overseez" to fight bad guyz and then nex thing I new I was back at the sheltur where I got sprung out of in the first place! And that was reely scary cuz I got put on the "euth list" a buncha tiems! But I had a angel in the sheltur and she saeved me every tiem and long story short (sorta!), I ended up way way acrost the country in Okla-homa with my mommy and lil' brother Snuggles. I am so happy and luv my family and even tho that sole-jur guy was nice and reely brave and stuf, he wasn't apposed to be my furever dad, I guess. And it turned out all gud. So, anyways, I hope my story chears you up and stuff. My mommy sez that if I wasn't so snotty and bossy with other gurl dogs that she wud try and get you to come live with us. Chin up, frend - redheads are fighters!

  34. Winnie, I saw the film of you meeting Angus. You did so beautifully that day, and you have the most beautiful ears. Also, your foster lady is the best. The people who will truly love you and appreciate your foster lady will come. I feel for you. Everything will be fine; you will be fine, and I thank your foster lady for taking such good care of you and loving you so.
Big love from Dallas, TX for both of you.

  36. Winnie, I'm sorry your new home didn't work out. We were all so excited for you and my people were real jealous. When we saw you and the mister in class, it looked like a love connection. That video with Angus was nice, too. He was a real handsome guy and you two looked like two peas in a pod. Your new family is coming, I'm sure. And remember, if you ever want to get frisky and run around with another handsome staffy bull in the meantime, I can definitely help you out there!

  37. Dear Winnie, I waited a looooooong time for my mom to find me. Some people thought I was too old, or too snorty, or that my short little legs couldn't go on long runs! Your perfect family is out there, Winnie, and with the help of your foster lady, Mr. Tim, and Ms. Donna, they'll find you. If I had fingers, I'd cross them hoping that your forever family finds you soon. Your pal, Tyson

  38. Awww Winnie, it breaks my heart to see you so rejected and sad. There isn't anything wrong with you and your forever family is out there somewhere, still looking for YOU! Better that this family changed their minds about you BEFORE you went to live there! You have a wonderful foster family that loves you beyond words and I think Lulu would have missed you. Take heart, beautiful girl, hang in there, tomorrow is a new day. I'm sad for you but glad that I will still get to read all about your adventures. xoxoxo

Keep smiling, sweet girl, this is just one tiny obstacle and you have overcome so many, much larger and more painful ones to make it to the place where you are now! Thanks to the kindness of your rescuers and your foster family and to your ability to be the best and sweetest little bull dog girl you can be!

  47. Winnie,

If the people who said they wanted you didn't take you that was probably a sign. You have a wonderful foster family and Bad Rap. As long as you've got them, have no worries. The right forever family will come along. Don't give up. My Mom and Dad are the best. Bad people tried to kill me, by drowning me in a lake. I was a new born. My Mom and Dad came and got me, I've been with them for five years. When Mom saw me for the first time she fell in love. She named me Agali, which in Cherokee means "Sun is shining". That is how she felt when I adopted her and Dad. I was scared until they took me home. I have a wonderful life. People say I'm spoiled rotten just like my two legged brother. It's because Mom and Dad love and take care of me. Don't give up, the best forever family will let you adopt them.

    Best regards,

    Agali
