A Day in the Life of Me

Before I came to California, every hour of every day of my life was pretty much the same. My chain was in the same spot and my little plastic drum house was my bed. Now I live in a house with my foster family, lots of things happen every day, so I though I would tell y'all about my days.

Every morning I wake up in my soft and cozy bed when the alarm goes off. We all go outside to check out the back yard to see what happened during the night. Then we have breakfast. I watch the foster lady very closely while she's making breakfast because I want to make sure I get my fair share.
Once our bellies are full Lulu, Uba and I all play and wrestle while the foster lady gets ready for work. We have a lot of fun, and then I go in my crate to rest.

After a little while our friend Rich comes to see us. He gives me lots of hugs and kisses. I really like him and I think he likes me too.
Then we wait a while and Uba watches out of the front window for the foster lady to come home so we can go for a nice walk. Sometimes Lulu and I walk together and other times its Uba and I. When Uba doesn't go for a walk, he runs on his treadmill. I am trying to figure out how to work the treadmill because it looks like so much fun.

Then we all practice our nose work or "sit" and "look" and "down", have our dinners and snuggle on the couch until its time to go to bed.
Sometimes Lulu lets me snuggle next to her when its bedtime and I really like that.
My days are so interesting now, I can hardly believe how lucky I am. Its a long way from my heavy chain and lonely drum house.

Winnie

A Real Nice Weekend

The weather here in California was beautiful this weekend. We got to spend a whole lot of time outside.
On Saturday Uba and I went for a walk, saw our friend Belinda, and sniffed interesting things. Then I went to pit bull class and I was a very good girl!
Later we played in the back yard and napped in the sun.

On Sunday Lulu and I went for a nice walk at a park with lots of ground squirrels. They look like normal squirrels but they live in holes in the ground, and they run around and make fun of dogs on leash. If she would just drop the leashes, I know we would be able to catch a few!
We finished up the day playing in the back yard.
It was a lovely weekend. I hope the weather was nice where you are and y'all had a good weekend too.

love,
Winnie

My Spa Day

This evening, after Uba, Lulu and I got all muddy playing in the back yard, the foster lady said it was time for us all to have baths. Uba and Lulu went first, and I went last. I was very relieved to see that neither of them melted when they got wet, but I was still a bit worried when it was my turn.
Once I was in the tub I found out it was actually pretty nice. She sprayed warm water all over me and told me I was a good girl. Next, she put nice smelling soap on me and I got a massage. I felt all warm and relaxed and she kept telling me I was a very good girl. Then she rinsed all the soap off with the lovely warm water and she rubbed me all over with a nice clean towel. I didn't even really want to get out of the bath tub after all the special care I was getting.
Now my white parts are extra white and my red parts are extra shiny and I smell like lavender and mint. I think I might actually like baths.

I guess I am truly a southern belle who loves to be pampered. Maybe next time I can get my nails painted or a bow in my hair.

Kisses,
Winnie

The Couch

I finally earned couch privileges! This is what it looks like:
I love napping on the couch and I feel very proud that I'm allowed to sit up there next to Uba and Lulu (Lulu is lying on the bed in the sun in this picture).
Back where I came from I never could have dreamed how nice it is to live in a house where there are soft and warm places like couches.
I am such a lucky little girl!

Its Not So Bad After All

I used to really really hate my time in the crate. When the foster lady used to say "Winnie, lets go in your house!" I would run away and then I would make myself real heavy when she picked me up to take me to the lonely and sad crate.
See how sad I was in the crate? It was lonely and sometimes Lulu and Uba would go into the other room where I couldn't see them and I would be all by myself, stuck in the crate.

Now, at the new house, I like my crate much better. I can see almost every room from my crate. In the morning, after breakfast, I like to go into my crate and curl up to get just a little bit more beauty sleep.
This morning, when she said it was time to go in my house so she could go to work, I just ran right in and forgot all about running away and making myself heavy. She was very proud of me and gave me an extra treat.

Its not so bad after all.

My Nose Works

This weekend we all went on a long car ride to go to a special class to make sure our noses work. There were lots of real nice people there who said nice things to me, and then I got to look for treats in boxes. It was real easy and I got lots of treats. It was so exciting I was dancing and singing when it was my turn to use my nose. Here is a little video of me practicing looking in boxes for treats.
I hope making sure my nose works helps me find my forever home.
